When Disco Goes Wrong is a new Swedish label of Janne "Högt I Tak" Berglund and Mårten "Mindbender" Attling. Janne has been around the Techno scene since the beginning. Travelling in India in the late eighties he discovered the Acid scene in Goa and as it goes, the rest is history. Today he is releasing on labels such as Nein Records, Emerald & Doreen, Esthetique as well as on When Disco Goes Wrong. Janne would like to describe his music as "Trailer Techno with a pinch of Psychedelic Disco and Acid Masala.

Mårten Attling Aka Mindbender started producing in the late eighties and quickly became a prolific figure in the Stockholm club scene. He was DJing all over and putting down the hours in the studio to learn the craft and he has a long career as a producer and musician with releases on R&S Records in Belgium, Apollo Records and Swedish Ohm Records, to mention a few. When Redbull Music recently listed the 15 most influential songs in early Swedish techno & rave, Mårten was included as a producer or otherwise involved in five of them.

It's lockdown time even in Sweden, though not as hard as in many other European countries. But as we live in different parts in Sweden it was not possible for us to meet and do a proper b2b set and film what we are doing. So we decided to do what we call a "Distant b2b" set over the internet. Sending the mix back and forth, playing one track each. It was great fun. The movie is a collage of different parties we've organized, played at, or simply just raved at. As well as clips from favourite places that have inspired us a lot during this year (The beautiful archipelago island Galterö and The ‘Snösätra Graffiti Wall Of Fame’ Snösätra in the suburbs of Stockholm). The video is made with the same punky ‘do it yourself’ attitude as the set.

We consider the music to sound new and fresh, but we also hope that you’ll hear the history of dance music in this mix. Some tracks are from our own label 'When Disco Goes wrong' along with some unreleased stuff fresh from our studios. Punk’s not dead - Let the disco go wrong!
