Over the last few years yosys and nextpnr have gained traction with a fully open source flow for Latice iCE40 and ECP5 FPGAs, with several efforts for other FPGAs on the way. In this talk I will share my work on Gowin FPGAs, and explain key concepts needed to contribute to more widely supported FOSS tools.
