Quest for Evidence of Lost Ancient Technologies Used to Shape the Megalithic Stonework of Egypt (2)

In the Hardware Hacking Area assembly: In December 2020, Scott Beibin and Elizabeth-Jane Cole traveled across Egypt on a research expedition – while many of the archaeological sites were empty of visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Using LIDAR scanners and digital microscopy, Beibin and Cole are working on a project to document what could possibly be viewed as evidence of advanced machining techniques lost to time used to shape ritual and functional objects as well as the megalithic stonework of pyramid and temple complexes - while comparing similarities in building techniques found in ancient sites at other locations on Earth. This talk will feature 3D scans and close up images of the striations in bore holes, long and deep consistent cut marks and errors found in the very hard stone composing these complexes – including granite, alabaster, and basalt. Also presented will be a variety of emerging theories from both the academic and independent research communities regarding the evidence of lost technologies used in the construction of these ancient sites.
